Junior, Senior Teams Win New England Invitational Championships

The Buffalo Sabres Sled Hockey junior and senior teams won their respective championships at the New England Invitational Sled Hockey Tournament on April 17 at Amelia Park, Mass. It was the final game of the season forĀ  both teams.

The senior team needed overtime before defeating the NEP Wildcats, 5-4, on a long shot from Jeff DeGlopper that found the back of the net. It was the fourth goal of the game for DeGlopper.

In the Junior game, the Sabres needed overtime and a shootout period to defeat the Virtua Wings of Steel, one day after tying the same team. In the shootout, Tyler Ball and Jared Cutler both scored, giving Buffalo a 3-2 win, while Virtua scored just once in the shootout.
